Dr.
Brush serves as the co-Project Director for the Persistent
Issues in History Workshop and is primarily responsible
for overseeing the development and dissemination of the
web-based tools and resources available in the PIH environment.
Dr.
Brush's research interests focus on integrating technology
into teaching, and designing technology-supported environments
to promote higher-order thinking in students. He has authored
or coauthored more than 25 publications related to his research
interests, and serves as a reviewer for Educational Technology
Research and Development, a publication of the Association
for Educational Communications and Technology. Dr. Brush
has also served on state-level educational technology advisory
boards in both Michigan and Alabama.
Prior
to coming to Indiana, Dr. Brush was Associate Professor
of Educational Technology at Arizona State University in
Tempe, AZ from 1998-2002, and Assistant Professor of Educational
Media at Auburn University in Auburn, AL from 1995-1998.
Dr. Brush has also served as director of instructional technology
for Mt. Clemens School District in Mt. Clemens, MI.
Dr.
Brush currently teaches educational technology courses for
undergraduate and education majors. He also teaches graduate
courses focusing on technology integration in K-12 settings
and technology-supported learning environments.
Dr.
Brush received his Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction and
instructional systems technology from Indiana University
in 1995.
