PIHNet Receives Grant from Auburn University |
| |
The Persistent Issues in History Network has been awarded a 2006 Auburn University Scholarship Outreach grant for the Building A Professional Knowledge Community for Problem-based History Study project. This grant will fund the local implementation of a collaborative professional teacher development model that can be expanded nationally. AU Outreach funds will allow us to: (a) create a collaborative local community of teachers, teacher educators and historians who use Lesson Study to refine a professional knowledge base for inquiry-based history, (b) develop a unique school setting for inducting new and pre-service teachers into a professional community of practice, and (c) build the technological capacity for facilitating collaboration locally and among a national group of educators.
