Enrollment
Information for PIH Fellows |
| |
Access to the source documents on this site is restricted to
Persistent Issues in History (PIH) Educational Fellows. Fellows
must be teachers employed in K-12 institutions. Fellows are
enrolled as members of the Persistent Issues in History Network.
Members of the Network study the central principles of the PIH
approach to historical inquiry, implement PIH instruction with
their students, and file on-line reports describing their
implementations and resulting student outcomes. The resources on
this site are intended for instruction only. Network members may
not use site resources for research purposes without the express
written permission of the PIH project directors.
Once approved, your PIH account is active for six months. In
order to maintain an “active” status on the PIH network, you
need to develop, implement, and report on at least one PIH
activity with your students in that time. The PIH team (led by
Dr. Saye and Dr. Brush) are available to assist you in the
development of your unit/activity.
In order to document the development and implementation of your
activity, we ask that you use the “journal” tool available on
the website to record your progress through this process. This
is the information we will use to document your involvement in
the PIH community.
To enroll in the Persistent Issues in History Network, click on
the “Continue with Enrollment” button at the bottom of this
page. This will take you to an agreement page. Please read the
list of membership requirements, and click on the “I Agree”
button if you agree to abide by those requirement.
After this, you will reach the enrollment page. Please fill in
all of the information requested on the enrollment page,
including the number of accounts needed for use by yourself and
the students in your class. Once you have submitted this
information, it will be reviewed to verify your affiliation with
a K-12 school. You will then be sent account information
(including usernames and passwords) for yourself and your class. |
